The next version of compact is also named officially as Windows Embedded Compact 2013.

WEH 6.5 Porting

Windows Mobile evolved in to Windows Embedded Handheld(WEH 6.5) and Windows Phone(WP7).
Windows Mobile 6.5.3 is the last release.
WEH 6.5 is for Industrial Mobile Segment.
WP 7 is for Consumer Mobile Segment.

We are successful in porting WEH 6.5 on Windows CE 5.0 based device.
The major challenge was flash chip - mDOC H3 1GB. The chip is EOL and no support from vendor.
The flash chip was from M-Systems in the beginning and SanDisk took over later. However, now it is not supported, which makes development work a lot harder than required.
